We value family with a passion that inspires us to help others find the connection that binds us together. Our values of compassion and availability come from raising our own family through the struggles of childhood, adoescence and young adulthood. We want to be there when you need us, because we have seen the value in being there for each other.

Joye Madden - Parent Support Specialist
Joye is a parent coach and consultant dedicated to guiding others on a journey of personal and family growth, insight and healing profound happiness. This dedication stems from her own personal healing story—Joye had to dig into the darkness of her childhood plagued with her parent’s mental health and addiction. These issues followed her into her marriage and family. She courageously embraced the need for therapy, rehab and therapeutic boarding schools as part of her family story. Watching her loved ones and children struggle with mental health disorders only strengthened Joye’s desire to fight against the stigma of mental illness. Joye’s long and arduous journey led to the discovery of her own light and she is now devoted to walking with clients alone a similar path of healing.
Joye’s practice in the field of recovery began at Bradford Health Services, an addiction recovery program. She assisted in their family program, by welcoming the family members and sharing her story. She was the first face they saw, as they entered the doors to become educated on addiction and mental illness. She was always there to greet them with a huge southern smile and a big hug. She then moved on to The Bridge To Recovery, a trauma treatment center, where she sat as an active board member. Before that, she assisted in their family program and their Adult Professional Program.
After countless coach trainings, conducting research and learning from mentors, Joye went out on her own to become a true advocate for families struggling with mental illness and addiction. She is now a certified Conscious Parenting Coach (by Dr. Tsbary Shefali), specializing in working with parents or caregivers who have children suffering from mental health challenges.
Joye’s work focuses on guiding parents into personal healing, practicing self-care in the midst of parenthood, and finding the appropriate resources for helping families who are struggling or in crisis. Her coaching work allows for parents to heal at their own pace, finding personalized healing for each family member. Sometimes, parents just need to be heard, to connect and for someone to just listen and hear their story.
Joye lives in Birmingham, Alabama. When she is not working with families, you can find her knitting, baking, playing with her pups, and enjoying time with her family!

Tori Cayle - Placement Support Specialist
Tori's journey began when her little brother enrolled in Open Sky Wilderness Therapy. Needing additional support, Tori’s parents hired Thrive to help with choosing aftercare. As her brother navigated the challenges of the wilderness, she felt the absence of support for siblings in the wilderness therapy programming. Thankfully, Sarah provided guidance throughout her brother’s treatment, motivating Tori’s dedication to helping families navigate similar situations.
After earning a BS in Psychology at Colorado State University, Tori joined the Thrive team. She not only serves as an Intake and Placement Coordinator but also takes on the role of a sibling mentor. Aware of the unique challenges faced by siblings, she fosters a deep understanding of the potential hardships they may experience during their loved one’s therapeutic journey. Her goal is to bridge the gap between programs, parents, and the entire family unit, ensuring a holistic approach to support and guidance. Tori has found that making connections with programs that facilitate healing and unity within families is something she is deeply passionate about. Her love for connecting with others, in and outside of work, is a reflection of her genuine interest in people and culture. In her free time, she extends this passion by spending time with friends and family. Tori’s love for diverse cultures led her to spend a year teaching English to elementary school students in Bat Yam, Israel and she currently lives in Tel Aviv. |
